Review: Canabix Hemp and Probiotic Wellness Water
Canabix is a line of CBD-infused “wellness water” made by Pennsylvania-based Hemp Synergistics.
Available in three flavors — Lemon Cucumber, Dragon Fruit, and Peach Tea — the Canabix formulation includes a blend of water (or brewed tea in the peach flavor), erythritol, sugar, probiotics, nano-emulsified hemp oil and natural flavors.
Packaged in 16 oz. clear glass bottles, Canabix contains 30 milligrams of CBD and probiotics, however it does not list the number of CFUs (colony-forming units).
The Peach Tea flavor contains 100 calories, 31 grams of carbs and 24 grams of sugar. Meanwhile, the other two varieties contain 40 calories, 27 grams of carbs and 10 grams of sugar.
Each bottles sells for $6 via the company’s online store.
From our perspective, Canabix feels like a product that needs some work. We appreciated the higher dosage of CBD; however, elevated carbohydrate counts were undesirable. We’d also like to see Canabix cut back on the calories — particularly in the Peach Tea SKU — and develop a more consistent formulation across the line.
In terms of branding, messaging on the front of the package focuses on the 30mg of CBD in each bottle. However, it’s the inclusion of probiotics that distinguish Canabix from other CBD-infused beverages on the market, and that call out was lost on a busy label that would benefit greatly from a design update.
We’re also not sold on the “wellness water” positioning, which is somewhat confusing, especially since one SKU is a tea.
Despite its flaws, there are some positives to build on. The Peach Tea flavor was the best-tasting of the three SKUs and felt like it could ultimately be the direction Canabix heads in the future.
In our view, a shift away from “wellness water” would benefit the brand and help it stand out from some of the other CBD waters on the market.
