Develops new commercial relationships with growth of overall bank deposits as the goal.
Develops business through an active calling program.
Establishes loan and business development goals.
Identifies target clients.
Works with internal staff to refer consumer loans and deposits.
Introduces clients to other Bank business services specialists as needed to fully meet client needs.
Maintains current knowledge of all Bank services and products.
As applicable, exercises the usual authority of a manager concerning hiring, performance planning, coaching and performance improvement plans and reviews, and pay, promotion and termination recommendations.
Participates in civic and professional activities to enhance the bank’s visibility in the market/industry. Promotes favorable image of the Bank in all business activities within the community.
Attends conferences and seeks out opportunities for speaking engagements within the industry.
Stays abreast of regulatory guidelines and the overall cannabis industry.
Manages all delivery channels to customers: Branch loan applications, deposit opening/servicing to ensure service levels are maintained or exceeded.
Responsible for cross selling deposit relationships to loan customers.
Stays informed of and uses/enforces Bank policies and procedures.
Sales and Service Management Responsibilities-
Conducts periodic staff sales and service meetings to keep staff informed, prepared and engaged relative to sales/service delivery performance/goals/expectations.\
Manages customer problems and complaints; counsels customers with special needs or requests.
Proactively cross-sells and or refer Bank’s products and services including insurance, mortgage and GGL referrals.
Coaches, develops and inspires staff to maximize their sales/service potential.
Utilizes outside training opportunities to expand knowledge and experience of the credit function.
Remains knowledgeable of and adheres to corporate policies and procedures and Federal and State regulations and laws. Assures the Bank’s compliance with regulatory agencies. Also adheres to Federal and State regulations and laws including the Bank Secrecy Act. An in-depth knowledge of fair lending legislation and compliance is required.

Minimum Education/Certification: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the financial industry
Required Knowledge: Must have a thorough knowledge of the cannabis industry, key leaders, competitors, etc. Knowledge of the types of commercial products and documentation utilized at a bank is required. Knowledge of applicable lending laws and regulations is essential.
Preferred Knowledge: A solid understanding of credit underwriting, accounting and financial analysis is preferred.
A minimum of 15 years specified industry or banking experience working with businesses to develop full banking relationships. Proven ability to recognize and focus on critical sales and service delivery issues and to balance and respond to competing role and organizational needs.
Experience in credit policy, analysis and regulatory practice would be helpful.
The ability to schedule, prepare for and conduct professional and business development calls on customers and prospects is essential. Sales and service leadership capabilities are required. Must have effective sales management and coaching skills and be a good role model with motivational and/or training skills and abilities. The focus/desire must be to provide excellent customer service. Must have the ability to implement and maintain appropriate procedures and policies to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. The ability to speak with confidence one-on-one and in group meetings and presentations is required. Must be able to think and act independently within guidelines and limitations of Bank policy and assigned authority. Must have proven superior negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively across a broad base of internal and external customer. Must be a capable user of Bank computer systems and technology including word-processing, spreadsheets, Internet and internal software. Able to manage many responsibilities simultaneously and accurately. Strong sales and organizational skills required.
Ability to analyze commercial and small business financials and tax returns to determine banking needs.
Physical Demands/Work Environment Requirements:
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, and bend. A valid driver’s license is required. Must have the ability to work the days and hours required to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Must have the ability to make decisions and exercise discretion when necessary.
