As the Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, you will co-lead Cresco Labs' corporate communications team from a strategy, planning, budgeting, and day-to-day team management, with an extra emphasis on the corporate relations function of the team. Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, this role is a high-visibility, high-impact role working cross-functionally across our teams nationwide.
CORE JOB DUTIES
Oversee the development, management, and quarterly tracking of the corporate communications department annual operating plan and corresponding budget.
Develop a strategic external communications plan that addresses goals, strategy, tactics and narrative/messaging for multiple target audiences including, but not limited to: investors, regulators, media, consumers/patients and partners.
Develop an internal communications strategy, with a focus on building trust and connection with employees around the country. This includes driving engagement through innovative approaches and tools as well as high-quality storytelling that keeps manufacturing, retail and corporate employees informed about what's happening at Cresco Labs.
Manage communications with stakeholders to ensure there is cohesive, consistent messaging and communications aimed at employees to influence and drive engagement.
Serve as a key advisor to Chief Communications Officer and other senior executives.
Promote, maintain and defend corporate and brand reputation; build proactive strategies and execute rapid response to time sensitive messaging.
Oversee Cresco Labs corporate relations and digital communications function working with Executive Leadership and marketing teams to develop a cohesive brand image, in addition to managing the company's communications and engagement with consumers across online platforms and social media.
Support investor relations team with communications aimed at existing and potential investors including newsletters and collateral, following disclosure guidelines, and keeping the audience engaged and excited about Cresco Labs capital ventures.
Continuously assess competitive landscape and marketplace to understand Cresco Labs brand positioning and manage ongoing process to ensure brand is fresh, relevant and demonstrates an industry leadership position.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
15+ years in an executive role leading/managing the Communications function for a large publicly traded organization developing and implementing successful and comprehensive communication plans.
6+ years of progressive leadership experience.
Strategic planning experience across a vertically integrated company preferred.
Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tell compelling stories and craft strong narratives.
Significant understanding of today's media environment, including the effective use of digital and social platforms.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills in order to work with all business units and employees.
Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
