If so, we are seeking a Supply Chain Manager who will be responsible for leading a team of individuals who are focused on both sourcing and inventory planning processes. Drive improved processes, reduced costs, and optimized inventory while meeting or exceeding the quality, delivery, and service expectations of Berlin Packaging and its customers.
Key Accountabilities: * Manage & Develop Others
Recruit and hire employees who meet the dynamic needs of Berlin Packaging.
Coach and mentor employees with a focus on enhancing their overall skills.
Provide clear direction along with a level of accountability that generates superior results.
Promote a continuous improvement mode of operation; readily challenge all employees to take individual and or group performance to the next level.
Spend Analysis & Cost Management
Proactively identify areas of opportunity and coach Buyers and Sourcing professionals to drive cost savings, inventory optimization, and margin improvement.
Monitor and negotiate resin increases and decreases along with other cost drivers.
Negotiate costs, terms, and other contractual elements with suppliers.
Manage transportation costs and focus on reducing total cost of ownership.
Purchase Order & Inventory Management
Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies which maximize cash flow and customer satisfaction.
Use innovation and implement new processes and procedures that are focused on improving efficiencies across the organization.
Supplier Development & Performance Improvement
Routinely meet with current suppliers to bring new and improved product solutions forward.
Effectively manage supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
Focus on developing new suppliers as improved performance and/or alternative solutions are required.
Routinely meet with suppliers and drive process solutions that will improve performance throughout the supply chain.
Project Management & Sourcing
Work with Sales and the project team to understand upcoming projects and identify potential sources of supply.
Develop supply strategies which allow Berlin Packaging to gain a competitive edge in the marketplace.
Focus on creating supplier relationships that offer win-win results.
Fulfill employee portion of the Berlin Values by demonstrating a strong work ethic, teamwork, loyalty, innovation, productivity, and driving profitable results.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: **
7+ years of Procurement, Sourcing, and Supply Chain experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
CPSM certification preferred, but not required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to conduct results-based negotiations.
Ability to develop and lead a team of individuals. Excellent time management skills required along with the ability to manage multiple tasks with a focus on output and results.
Provide leadership consistent with Berlin’s culture and business plans.
Ability to proactively address issues and deploy effective problem-solving techniques that address root cause issues.
Strong decision-maker with the ability to consider all alternatives and options and quickly implement appropriates action.
