The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Operations Performance & Analytic, the Senior Manager, Operations Data Analytics will be a key contributing member of the Operations Excellence organization, enabling critical business decisions and driving a data driven and informed culture. The ideal candidate will leverage skills and experience to collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders and leadership teams to translate data into meaningful insights based on key performance indicators and metrics. The Manager, Operations Data Analytics will also play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of Canopy’s Operations data strategy through key data sets that will drive insights and analytics to collectively achieve Canopy Growth’s revenue aspirations.

  • Champion cross functional projects to advance data analytics and performance reporting capabilities across Operations lines of business (e.g. Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Procurement)
  • Assist Director in developing, implementing and managing deliverables relating to analytics and performance reporting strategy across Operations - ensure OPEX/Operations team delivers desired outcomes against key targets, scorecards and Service Level Agreements
  • Lead design, documentation, delivery and utilization of solutions that turn complex data into easy-to-understand visual insights that are aligned to business objectives and scorecards
  • Support the process of continuous operational improvements, industry benchmarking and KPI measurement to increase the effectiveness of the various supply chain functions
  • Own and drive initiatives that improve internal efficiencies, attain supply optimization rapidly adopting and keeping up with latest industry trends & initiatives
  • Effectively manage the team to achieve results by providing appropriate direction, timely developmental feedback and coaching, and conducting performance reviews and conversations
  • Ensure high quality and reliability of data using efficient tools, audit and governance on time and within budget
  • Providing guidance to the OPEX/Operations team by drawing on the industry trends, understanding of business objectives and opportunities for improvement
  • 5+ years management experience required with demonstrated success building, developing and leading a high performing business intelligence/analytics team
  • University degree in Business/Commerce, Computer Science/Engineering/Analytics or similar
  • Progressive experience in the data and analytics domain with medium to large scale data projects preferably in manufacturing setting
  • Strong technical experience with tools and platforms such as Python, SQL, VBA; Data visualization tools such as MS SSRS, Tableau, Power BI; Cloud services platform (e.g, Azure, AWS) and analytics tools (e.g, Databricks, Snowflake)
  • Strong experience with data visualization with ability to develop graphical displays of large data sets to illustrate performance and optimization opportunities
  • Demonstration of expertise in one or more of the following domains: business intelligence/reporting, data warehouse/data mart, data governance initiatives, big data/cloud data platforms, data strategy and transformation
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, with different teams, functions and business units across large, matrixed organizations
  • High level of tolerance for working with ambiguity while driving effective change agendas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills and interpersonal skills with ability to influence and manage change
  • PMP, SQL or Industry recognized certification(s) in Supply Chain considered a strong asset
