The Director of Retail Operations reporting directly to the CEO, is responsible for overseeing all operations of a team while providing clear direction to achieve company initiatives. Additionally, the Director of Retail Operations implements and maintains the policies and procedures of the company and ensures compliance with all state and local laws and regulations.
Observing and participating in patient services on sales floor, including staff productivity and patient engagement.
Performing random Audit of patient intake forms, for accuracy and completion.
Executing and maintaining compliance of all local and state regulations.
Maintaining accountability of all team members, in relation to specific job description.
Reviewing weekly schedules to ensure there is proper floor coverage, based on business needs.
Upholding all company policies and procedures.
Interfaces with department heads weekly to discuss inventory management, policy and security updates and other dispensary needs.
Performing random audits of cash balancing and product inventory, at each location.
Reviews bi-weekly payroll budget, at each location.
Providing Cultivation team with feedback on inventory levels and sales trends on a weekly basis.
Responsible for approving and processing all Dispensary Manager time-off requests.
Auditing and ensuring that all patient advisors and pharmacists maintain proper record keeping such as patient intake forms, cash handling
Utilization of KPIs/metrics, tools, reports and review cadence to make transparent operating performance, facilitate visibility and closed loop learning (e.g., training) that result in improved reliability, capacity, efficiency, productivity, uptime and safety.
Develop operational dashboards to report on performance across all retail locations.
Training & Development
Providing training and development to ensure all Dispensary Managers are proficient and training patient advisors to greet with a helpful, pleasant and compassionate attitude, making every interaction a positive experience.
Recruiting, interviewing and hiring all Dispensary Managers.
Provide training for Dispensary Managers on HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
Providing training and development to all Dispensary Managers to ensure proficiency in MJ Freeway inventory management and point of sale platform.
Participating in weekly conference calls with Dispensary Managers from all locations.
Ensuring that all Dispensary Managers are trained and current on product knowledge and proper dosage.
Ensuring that all Dispensary Managers are maintaining current company policies and procedures as well as all state and local laws and regulations.
Ensuring that all General Managers are proficient in cash balancing and product protection.
Oversees monthly physical inventory, at each location.
Ensuring that all team members train with Director of Security for prevention of diversion of cash and/or product, within the first month of hire.
Conducting random audits of cash and/or product, using audit checklist.
Reviewing security procedures and protocols with management team, at each location.
Reviewing incident reporting, with management team.
Ensures that all locations are conducting self-compliance audits monthly.
Executing monthly product inventory.
Ensuring daily balancing or cash and product are being done according to company and DPH policies.
Reviewing Loss Prevention (LP) procedures with General Manager, on a quarterly basis.
10+ years retail experience.
High capacity for leadership and vision. Sharp general business acumen and commercial orientation.
Strong analytical abilities and track record of data-driven decision making.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, hands-on, high growth entrepreneurial environment.
Demonstrated ability to build and manage a high performing team.
Experience in specialty retail, retail tech, and/or regulated marketplace.
Bachelor’s degree in business or similar concentration preferred.
Ability to track and analyze initiatives and performance to ensure we meet and/or exceed our revenue goals.
An effective manager with strong execution skills that is entrepreneurial, astute and has a passion for getting into the details where appropriate to make effective decisions and drive results.

Able to travel, as needed, including weekends where necessary to drive production.

Must be 21 years old.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
