We are looking for an innovative and experienced marketing leader to drive our client’s next phase of commercial growth. The Director of Marketing will lead marketing and communications activities for all brands and products in the company's growing portfolio, including brand strategy, new product launches, retail sales and field marketing support, digital/social media strategy, PR, content creation, and events. This position will be essential to developing and stewarding the company’s public voice, and will work cross-functionally with the Sales, Retail Marketing, Production and Operations teams.


RESPONSIBILITIES

●     Lead company-wide  marketing strategy, planning, and execution in collaboration with the CEO, CRO and VP of Retail Marketing

●     Direct brand-building activities

●     Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new products and brands

●     Oversee and develop various communications channels, including social media, content, PR, and others

●     Build and manage team of experts to execute on design, content, digital and other areas of marketing

●     Manage agency relationships

●     Collaborate with Production to ensure timely delivery of packaging and labeling

●     Work closely with VP of Retail Marketing to drive sell-through and provide marketing support for retail channels

●     Oversee written communications; develop and steward all elements of the company’s public voice

●     Develop and implement analytical tools and processes for assessing performance of all marketing activities, including analyzing expenditures by channel, campaign, product line, geography, and other categories as appropriate to evaluate the success of various campaigns or strategies

●     Manage and track department budgets by regularly comparing actuals against forecasts

●     Provide detailed reports to the executive team on marketing metrics and budgets

 

EXPERIENCE

● 7+ years of experience in brand or product marketing, preferably in food, beverage or similar CPG environment; experience in the cannabis industry a plus

● Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field; Master’s degree a plus

● Proven experience executing multi-channel marketing campaigns, including in support of new brand and/or product launches

● Native ability in directing digital campaigns and managing social media presence

● Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets

● Strong leadership skills including high degree of comfort with short deadlines and a fast-paced environment

● Superior communication skills and demonstrated negotiation abilities

● Strong POV and vision about creative and brand guidelines

● Excellent writing skills
