This position can be based in Culver City, California, Stayner, Ontario, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Bet Shemish, Israel. The Director of Analytical Science will play a key role in our transformation journey of applying innovative analytics to drive business improvement and competitive advantage. S/he will be in charge of planning, overseeing, and coordinating multiple analytical development projects, as well as be involved in the full lifecycle by determining project requirements, completing them on time and to budget and transferring them broadly across the Cronos Group’s locations. It is vital that the Director of Analytical Science will maintain positive relationships with both internal and external parties. You will be working within the Cronos Group Product Innovation team, responsible for building the corporate analytical sciences initiatives. You will be a highly technical & experienced contributor yourself, driven by curiosity to innovate and solve technical and analytical science problems and focused on delivering proven or innovative methods which achieve positive impacts for the customer.
Select and lead small agile project teams to work on a range of challenges across multiple product formats.
Develop Analytical models from spec to resource and manage stakeholders and delivery.
Design, execute, and interpret experiments to develop, validate, transfer and troubleshoot quality procedures and test methods.
Carry out investigations and produce documentation.
Provide contributions to the understanding and interpretation of results and how they impact the design of subsequent experiments.
Develop and author complex, explicit documentation for new and current procedures, validation protocols and technical reports incorporating appropriate use of statistics.
Solves assay/process problems by identifying potential problems and proactively suggesting technical solutions based upon analytical expertise and knowledge of product/process.
Routinely coordinate completion of specific project tasks with other departments.
Contribute to the development of project strategy in consultation with supervisor and/or colleagues.
Work with extraction procedures and innovative methods that can be leveraged by the biosynthesis team and comply with any standards guidelines.
Ability to attend and conduct meetings
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals

Requires frequent travel
Need to have:
Minimum of M.Sc. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or other relevant scientific discipline and a minimum of 10 years of experience
Expertise utilizing HPLC-UV, LC-MS and LC-MS/MS, and GC-MS techniques
Hands-on experience in analytical method development and validation for small ingredients and consumer products is an asset, particularly in the context of phytochemistry, natural products chemistry, or environmental toxicology
Highly diligent excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills
Competence to multi-task and prioritize
Advanced knowledge of analytical principles
