SUMMARY: The Assistant General Manager provides leadership to the building by utilizing a curated set of efficient, functional, operational processes focused on providing our community with the highest quality products, patient education, and wellness alternatives. This person is responsible for producing financial results that meet and consistently exceed budget expectations.



· Recruit, hiring, on-board, train and develop all Dispensary staff

· Set specific expectations for how to conduct job duties

· Hold staff accountable against stated expectations

· Provide regular, honest feedback to all staff

· Regularly evaluate staffing needs and adjust as needed

· Develop and maintain culture consistent with overall corporate parameters including medicinal and clinical focus

· Conduct personnel performance reviews

· Provide direct leadership to Dispensary assistant managers and leads including collaboratively determining their duties

Business management

· Develop a culture of sales and drive top line revenue to meet and exceed stated goals

· Properly operate location including adhering to all pre-determined processes

· Schedule personnel in accordance with store needs and budgets

· Oversee payroll submissions and work with HR to ensure staff is paid properly and timely

· Determine and procure proper product mix maintaining gross margin goals

· Set pricing for all dispensary products

· Maintain proper inventory levels in accordance with plan and budget

· Co-create Marketing strategy with Marketing department

· Properly handle all monies and deposits

· Learn all technology and systems and introduce new ideas regarding systems not currently being used

· Oversee handling of all non-resale procurement

· Maintain and promote brand definition as a medicinal and clinically focused location

· Assist in the maintenance of the physical space and equipment

· Assist in the overall determination of short and long-term strategy of dispensary

Data & Analysis

· Collect all important data required to understand and run business

· Analyze all KPI’s surrounding sales, margins, inventory, patient counts and behaviors, etc.


· Participate in the creation of concepts and tools for ongoing education of patients and staff

· Execute ongoing education initiatives as needed

· Participate in the creation of programming schedule for education

· Participate in the development of content and execution of educational events

· Participate in the creation of programming schedule for education


· Learn and maintain continual awareness and understanding of complete set of specific rules and regulations determined by the law and by the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission

· Ensure Wellness Center remains fully compliant

· Regularly review and re-write sop’s as needed

· Participate in compliance audits with corporate

· Participate in all inspections and interactions with MMCC personnel


· Engage in honest, innovative, problem-solving dialogue

· Be available in case of emergency (e.g., alarm triggers, etc.)

· Promote the mission, vision and values of the company to all team members at all times

· Perform administrative duties including reading and writing and answering emails, texts and calls in a timely and professional manner

· Open and close store as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervise the work activities of others and make recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Other Qualifications:

· Strong understanding of sales, marketing, and supply chain management

· Strong product knowledge awareness

· Knowledge of and passion for wellness and wellness products

· Ability to work retail hours (nights, weekends & holidays)
5+ years Retail experience required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
