Canndescent is looking for a brand centric Social Media Manager with experience writing copy for CPG brands in natural foods, health & wellness, and/or luxury fashion/beauty. The Social Media Manager will work with content and retail teams to ensure brand messaging is compelling, engaging, and effective. The ideal candidate excels at writing creative copy, is results oriented, and enjoys collaborating with others in a fast paced, results oriented work environment.


What you'll do:

  • Brainstorm and write creative, compelling copy (consumer; trade) in the respective brand voice of Canndescent brands for creative marketing applications (web/email/social/blog)
  • Develop a deep understanding of consumer’s mindsets, attitudes, & behaviors to inform strong content development
  • Establish programmatic influencer marketing; manage external agency partners 
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ideate new ideas and take them from rough thoughts to clear, concise, finished content via still imagery, animations, stories, and video
  • Prepare and distribute weekly social media reports to executive team members to ensure alignment on current social conversations/strategy
  • Report on key metrics monthly to demonstrate effectiveness of social media strategy
  • Help to develop strategic frameworks to test and push best-in-class email/social execution
  • Create, post and manage monthly social media/editorial calendars


Requirements:


  • 3-5 years of social media and creative content marketing in the sectors of cannabis/CBD, health & wellness, natural foods, or luxury fashion/beauty
  • Must be an excellent, authentic storyteller with social and digital expertise. Copywriting background in the field of product marketing PREFERRED.
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail and ability to self-manage a heavy workload and hit deadlines; a talent for working with teams and communicating effectively; a self-starter and naturally curious
  • Must be willing and available to work after business hours—including evenings, weekends and holidays—when a social media response is a necessary part of an overall communications strategy
  • Team player mentality; a high-energy personality, able to infuse and bring out positivity, passion, creativity, enthusiasm, and camaraderie in groups
  • Bachelor’s degree in (Social Media/Digital) Advertising, Marketing or related field
  • Working knowledge of current cannabis market trends, culture and lifestyle themes that align with the Canndescent brands a BONUS
