Based out of Carleton Place, Ontario, Kolab Project is seeking a highly motivated Manager, Labeling and Packaging Compliance. Reporting to the VP, Regulator Affairs at Auxly, the successful incumbent will ensure labeling and packaging compliance with regulatory requirements and Auxly label and packaging approval processes. They will lead bar code approval efforts and product registrations with various provincial boards, provide support for inspection readiness, oversee and support the management of site-level product labeling, review and approve packaging artwork, and liaise cross-functionally with critical stakeholders in Commercial, Supply Chain, Quality and Regulatory Affairs.

Additionally, they will have an ability to develop strong matrix working relationships with various teams and will be responsible for supporting Auxly’s overall compliance and strategies for marketed products. A pro-active individual, the Manager of Labeling and Packaging Compliance will have an ability to lead, manage, influence, and work collaboratively with Auxly internal and external stakeholders.
  • Embody Auxly’s and Kolab Project’s business mission and strategy and act in a responsible, ethical, and honest behaviour while consistently leading by example.
  • Accountable for overall oversight of Auxly’s labeling and packaging approval processes and supporting associated site level approvals. This includes tracking of labeling and packaging updates and deviations and maintenance of controlled records.
  • Ensure packaging and labelling approvals and deployment supports commercial product launches.
  • Collaborate with Creative/artwork and Supply Chain stakeholders to plan and implement label changes.
  • Work with packaging vendors to review, approve, select, and assist with procurement of packaging.
  • Work with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve project timelines.
  • Support commercial team with provincial onboarding and registration.
  • Responsible for management of all bar code related matters.
  • Responsible for CTLS submissions of all New Product Notifications across all Auxly sites.
  • Proofread and verify and departmental quality controls, as needed.
  • Support site-level Quality Assurance at Kolab, as needed.
  • Other related tasks as assigned, and as operationally required.
  • Strong working knowledge of the cannabis regulations, guidelines and precedents related to cannabis products, including packaging, labelling, and marketing.
  • Previous experience leading process improvement projects, managing projects, or coordinating multiple activities at once.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, proofreading, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including a working familiarity with electronic document management systems for compliant maintenance and version control of submitted, approved and in-use labeling.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, influence decision-making, and attain buy-in at a senior level.
  • Ability to drive projects to from ideation to completion.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and operate with a high degree of independence regarding routine and non-routine assignments in a start-up industry with evolving deadlines and regulations.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
