Plan, direct, or coordinate human resource activities and staff of an organization. Job Duties to include some or all of the tasks listed below:
Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts; and helping resolve work-related problems.
Supports organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits when questions arise and during interviews.
Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems.
Develop programs to enhance employee relations and offer employee support to each staff member
Enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
Manages a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
Implements employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; and designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
Cultivates professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
Advances human resource staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
Come up with new ways to measure employee morale and determine methods for improving overall employee satisfaction
Act as liaison between the company and outside legal and professional resources to ensure that all employment policies follow current laws and regulations
Maintain records, compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates, and audit current employee records quarterly.
Advise Smokey’s and their staff on organizational policy matters such as ADA, FMLA, worker’s compensation, equal opportunity, and sexual harassment; and recommend needed changes.
Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
Plan and conduct annual HR training company-wide.
Must adhere to all applicable MED rules and regulations and maintain their occupational badge current. Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.

Support Smokey’s Upper Management in all matters that pertain to the operations of Smokey's in the safest, most efficient manner or financially responsible way.
Comprehensive understanding of local, state and federal employment laws
Supervision of HR Administrative Assistant, ensuring that tasks are delegated and completed in a timely and satisfactory manner. Must also conduct this employee’s review annually.
Valid Marijuana Enforcement Division issued Employee License; must be maintained

Experience and Education:
Attend Responsible Vendor class every 2 years, completing the test with 70% or better bi-yearly
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Psychology
1 year of Experience in HR or related.
The ability to remain in a seated position, standing, as well as the ability to go back and forth from seated to a standing position for periods of 4-8 hours during their shift; may also be asked to do light lifting (50 lbs max) as well as bending and stretching
