The Director of Operations will be responsible for directing all extracting, packaging, manufacturing and logistics activities to assure that Curaleaf delivers high quality products while maintaining the most efficient product cost structure. The Director of Operations is accountable for meeting production demand that supports Corporate top line while improving efficiency to bottom line growth. This position is responsible for all day-to-day operations, including purchasing, production planning, manufacturing and shipping of quality products with continuous quality and process improvements to ensure attainment of operational goals, tactics, and priorities that drive business results with a focus on quality.

Leadership

  • Maintain a strong presence in associated facilities to effectively coach and support operations teams
  • Ensure manufacturing environments are brand appropriate (i.e. positive, reassuring, energetic, encouraging, educational and welcoming)
  • Ensure operational priorities, processes and procedures are communicated and understood
  • Assure the cost-effective manufacturing of quality pharma-grade product
  • Responsible for and working closely with the Director of Cultivation, State Presidents, and Director of Dispensaries, in the planning of all capital improvement projects
  • Communicate often and effectively cross-functionally to continually educate manufacturing crew regarding product knowledge and brand initiatives
  • Partner with Compliance Team to monitor and maintain proper manufacturing compliance controls with all federal/state regulations
  • Supervisor of Plant Managers with more than 1 facility in a state
  • Responsible for the Trim & Pack function
  • Review & manage any additional packaging areas when needed
  • Extraction-responsible for ensuring quality and quantity of finished product
  • Responsible for any additional Manufacturing that occur within the facility (kitchens, etc.), SQF and food safety experience necessary
  • Understanding of common Warehousing tools and how to use lean methodology to increase space for product
  • Distribution (for 3rd party sellers, retail)-experience with selecting, partnering and managing these vendors
  • Customer Service-provide a high level of customer service both internally and externally
  • Supply Chain (specifically sales and operations planning)
  • Facilities-maintenance and capital project management
  • Ensure Quality in all functional areas
  • MRP Coordinator (responsible for state-level purchasing)

Qualifications

  • A high-touch, credible, visible leader who could establish instant credibility and inspire the team
  • Demonstrated track record in team building and driving operational efficiencies
  • 5+ years' experience in manufacturing or logistics is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field required
  • Outstanding people skills, organizational skills and a passionate leadership style
  • Start-up experience, a plus
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred-SQF/HAACP experience
  • Logistics and warehousing experience
  • Lean/Six Sigma methodology preferred
  • Retail/CPG experience highly preferred
  • Team player with the ability to gain consensus through collaboration and open dialogue
  • A sense of urgency, high energy, and hands-on approach
  • Experience in the cannabis industry not required, but a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is strongly preferred
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Current Driver's license required
