Green Dragon, one of the largest cannabis companies in Colorado with 15 retail locations, is looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to lead the Human Resource Department. The Director of Human Resources will manage over 300 employees and work directly with the Controller and the CEO. This person will direct the day-to-day workflow of the human resource department.



  • New employee onboarding; including drafting offer letters
  • Keeping employee lists current with state and local authorities
  • Employee file maintenance
  • Maintain and update company policies, procedures and employee handbook
  • Calculate and process all payroll related changes including but not limited to: transfers, terminations, promotions, and changes in compensation including salary/rate and retroactive pay increases, and other pre- or post-tax deductions.
  • Process worker’s compensation, unemployment claims, employment verification, and garnishments
  • Administer and manage benefit packages
  • Review performance evaluations and provide feedback
  • Recruiting of new employees by posting jobs, interviewing, writing offer letters, etc.



  • Minimum 5 years experience in HR and payroll administration
  • Solid knowledge of human resources methods and best practices
  • Must have thorough knowledge of employment law, employee relations, wage/salary and benefits administration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A track record as an efficient and effective facilitator on conflict resolution matters, investigator on employee issues, coach in providing management and employee guidance and support, managing diversity in the workplace, and employee advocates
  • Must be able to maintain good working relationships with employees and senior management
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Top-notch attention to detail

  • Ability to apply diplomacy to sensitive situations
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google)


This is a full-time position based in Denver, Colorado.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
